School is finally out!

I'm sure I'm going to eat those words in about 2 weeks when the boredom sinks in...or lack of sleep from playing so hard all day long.  I remember being so excited for summer vacation...then after a few weeks missing my friends so much as I never got to see them since I lived in the middle of nowhere on a farm.  I am looking forward to not spending half of my day in my vehicle, getting Andrew on somewhat of a nap schedule and making some great summertime memories.

Eric is taking Jack and Sam to the Angels vs Rockies baseball game this weekend in celebration of a great school year by both of them.

Next year...Sam will be conquering Kindergarten...in Spanish as he was accepted into the Immersion Program, too.  Jack will be entering 3rd grade...some of my fondest childhood memories where right around his age.

Happy Summer everyone!!!!

Enjoy!

...where's my bottle of wine now??

8 months old...

Everyone has to start somewhere...just like Mozart did...

Loves his music...even "sings" himself to sleep.

Mandatory...

These little seats need to become a set standard in public bathrooms...

MOHAWK!

I figured, it sticks straight up anyway.  And when in Cali...

Yes, it's on the blonde side...must be the sunshine.  :)
Try giving this type of a haircut to an 8 month old...not easy...

Happy Father's Day!!

To the two most important men in my life...

Haha...funny, I know!

To TRI or not to try...

Almost a year ago, as I was sitting in the California sun, I had heard about this triathlon that they have at the lake no more than one mile from our home.  As I stood there...very pregnant...I stated that I was going to be participating in that event in 2010.

Well, here it is...2010...and the OC Triathlon is 16 weeks away.  I have thought about it in the recent weeks, but was beginning to write it off as I don't have the first clue about triathlons, nor do I have any of the gear needed...except for a pair of running shoes.

So, here I am saying what the hell...I'm going for it.  It is on the 12th anniversary of my Grandfather passing away and I figure at those times when I am about to give up, I will just think of him poking his finger (hard) into my side and telling me to pick it up.  Please think of me and wish me luck in the upcoming weeks...I will definitely need it.  Any tips or advice is appreciated.  Hopefully I don't drown on my first attempt to swim.  Seriously.  If I cross the finish line on this one...it will be a HUGE accomplishment for myself.  Huge...

SWIM - 1.5K - 0.9 miles
BIKE - 40K - 24.8 miles
RUN - 10K - 6.2 miles

Swimming Lessons

We have one week of swimming lessons under our belts so far.  Initially, Jack was super motivated to pass everything that needed to be to get on the swim team and Sam didn't even want to go to the lessons.  Now, they have both moved up a level, Sam can already swim and he is determined to get on the swim team as well.
Finally a swim school that I love.  They have great teachers that are detailed, reward the kids and move them up to the next level when they are ready instead of waiting until the month is over.

OUCHY!!!!!

...enough said.

LOOK VERY CLOSELY...........

Have you figured it out yet?
...nicely grouped together in our palm tree
...a group of black and yellow insects
...an estimate of more than 5000 grouped together
...they will sting you if you make them mad
...they produce honey

BEES!  And a crap load of them...I can use "crap load" here.

About 2 months ago our neighbor called me as I was just getting Andrew ready to leave and pick the boys up from school.  She sounded troubled as she said to me..."whatever you do, do not go out your front door right now."  First thoughts were that there was some crazy neighbor with a gun out front or maybe a mountain lion.  As I started walking towards the front of our home (I could hear a humming noise), she was telling me that her husband had just heard this very loud noise out front of their home and when he went to go see what it was...he saw the sky was black with an enormous swarm of bees.  Conveniently they found their new "home" in our front yard...lucky us.  By the time I had to leave, the majority of them had already made their way into the tree.  We ended up having to have them removed as our yard is where a lot of the neighborhood kids play...and the bees weren't leaving.

These guys were adrenaline junkies...crazy!
